Some people view Rochedale South as an up-and-coming development hotspot, but sales agent Kate Chen believes it still has plenty of space for families.
675B Underwood Road is a four-bedroom, two-bathroom, low-set home “with a really simple layout that people like”.
Ms Chen said the home was of a “heritage-federation style” with wainscoting panelling along the walls.
“And it’s got the long driveway so it’s really private,” she said.
“A lot of people who live on properties like this – battle-axe blocks – they like the privacy and quiet.
“People who like their privacy and that sort of block wouldn’t go anywhere else.
“But there’s a lot of buyers who would disregard this place for that reason, so it’s tough to find the right buyer – the right buyer likes the battle-axe block without any frontage and a shared driveway, whereas 80 per cent of buyers don’t.”
The brick home sits on an almost 1000sqm block.
The “basic” floorplan boasts a living and dining space complete with air-conditioning and large glass panels for natural light.
All four bedrooms are fitted with built-in wardrobes.
The front and backyards have been designed for relaxing, with a covered alfresco patio for entertaining and relaxation, and a fire pit out the back.
Ms Chen said while the yard was small, it was easy to maintain and perfect for a young, busy, working family.
“A young family would be perfect because it has that long driveway so kids can ride their bikes and play outside without having to worry about cars – it’s a good sanctuary,” she said.
She said the property had “packed in a lot of value”.
“You feel isolated but you’re not – as soon as you walk outside, everything is right there,” she said.
“There’s also a double garage plus side access where you can put a caravan or boat undercover.”
